Getting Hitched: Working with a Custom Wedding Dress Designer

Every bride imagines their wedding day in a different way. Here’s a bit of an idea on how the design and creation process works:

First, it’s good to have an idea of what you like, and what you don’t like so that during your first meeting you can provide a good idea of what you’re looking for. Do a bit of research on the right dresses for your body type, fabrics and textiles that you like, and cuts, draping and the length you’d like. Have a few images of dresses that you like and point out the elements that you’d like to add or stay away from.

During or after this initial meeting, the team will put together an initial sketch for you similar to the one pictured below.

Once vision for the dress is agreed upon, it’s a good idea to disclose the budget you’re working with so that we can look into the right fabrics, embroidery work, and design for your price range. Then it’s time to take measurements and get to work!

Once embroidery and design work is finished, we begin to put all the pieces together to get ready for a fitting. This is the stage where length and little details can be altered for the absolute best fit.
